Sharp Corporation of Australia has announced the release of the new PGF255W DLP® projector featuring widescreen image reproduction, BrillantColour™ technology and the clarity of 2,500 lumens brightness for superb large screen viewing.

Delivering excellent presentation performance for both business and education applications, the Sharp PGF255W projector features a wide screen compatible WXGA (1280 x 800) panel which boasts a 1.3 times larger image than standard XGA. It is also compatible with digital high definition 1080p giving it the added flexibility to be used as a theatre projector.

The projector’s BrilliantColour™ technology delivers superb picture brilliance and vastly superior colour nuances. This extraordinary colour brilliance is achieved through a colour processing algorithm which provides greater depth and vibrancy to intermediate colours such as video and natural landscapes. Adding to the excellent picture quality is a 2200:1 high contrast ratio to deliver crisper detail and sharper blacks.

Offering the level of quietness required for use in business meetings and education situations, the DLP® high speed six-segment colour wheel features non-contact fluid dynamic bearings as well as a front exhaust system, significantly reducing sound output to a low 29dB in ‘Eco +Quiet’ mode.

Connection to other equipment is made easy thanks to multiple input terminals including DVI-I for digital and analogue input, D-sub terminals (in/out) as well as compatibility with AV equipment, computers and video game consoles.

The PGF255W is equipped with Sharp Unique Network System providing remote access and management of the projector via a LAN connection. It enables a wide range of control and diagnosis functions, such as power on, input select and volume adjustment by a computer located in another room, or sending an automatic e-mail message when detecting events like fan break-down, unusual heating or lamp going out. It offers the capability of Network Surveillance System for theft detection as an add-on feature to other hardware protection: system lock and key lock function.

Other useful features include keystone correction and presentation assist functions with pointer, spot light and mouse control. Superb dust resistance is achieved with a DLP® sealed optical system and filter-free design, which requires less maintenance.

The Sharp PGF255W projector is available at all leading electrical retailers at the RRP of $2,699.
